Purified Water |
We could say ‘Aqua” |

Cocyl Glucoside and Decyl Glucoside (from Glucose) |
Glucosides are cleansers derived from mixing glucose with a fatty alcohol. They are generally acknowledged as the most gentle cleansers available. The downside of glucosides are they do not foam well and other problems that make them difficult to formulate. However, for our own use we didn’t really care about the foam, we simply wanted the most gentle cleanser for our face we could find. This is why our Milk Wash uses Glucosides as its main cleanser, and also why it doesn’t foam much. But we think your skin won’t mind. |
Cocobetaine and Sodium Lauroampoacetate |
Although it is tempting to keep our product simple and just use 1 or 2 natural cleansers, we know that using more cleansers each in small amounts is more gentle on the skin. That is why we also use 2 coconut oil based cleansers to help the glucosides above. |
Milk Protein |
Milk Protein, or Casein, is a beautiful skin conditioner. Dairy Allergies: Most people with milk allergies are allergic to Lactose in milk, not the protein. However, as with all natural products, they should be patch tested on a small area of skin first |
Glyceryl Oleate (Natural Ester) |
This helps condition and moisturise the skin. |
Aloe Vera |
As most people know, Aloe is a wonderful soothing plant. |
Glycol Distearate (Conditioner) |
Helps the skin feel smooth and soft after washing. |
Glyceryl Caprylate |
When water and natural ingredients are mixed, they can become contaminated with bacteria, some of which can be very dangerous. Our products are often used by people with already troubled skin and children, and bacteria are the last thing they need. We also use the products ourselves. We know that a tiny amount of an effective preservative in a natural product to keep the cream pure is a much safer option than taking chances with “natural” preservatives that are not very effective. Glyceryl Caprylate is an Ecocert Approved (Organic Approved) way of keeping this cream sterile. We voluntarily send our creams for testing to an independent laboratory that checks the purity of the cream if stored under 30 degrees for 2 years. This is called a British Pharmocopea Preservative Efficacy Test. |
Piroctone Olamine |
An Olamine salt that helps prevent yeast or mould growing. It is also non irritating and non-toxic. |
Fragrant Oil (Phthalate Free) |
Non-irritating and also helps keep the cream free from bacteria. |
We prefer to use phthalate-free fragrance oils as they are a much safer alternative. For fragrance that contain phthalates studies have shown it can interfere with hormones in the body, posing potential risks to the reproductive and thyroid systems |
